Lomax Ready for 2015 British Rallycross Season
On the back of a successful 2014 which saw the Pontefract based British Rallycross team secure the British Hot Hatch title in near faultless form. They were also awarded the best promoted team in British Rallycross at the annual awards ceremony in early January.
Craig and his XtremeRX team are relishing the new challenges ahead of them. Competing in a new class, Super1600, with a new car, Citroen C2R2. Couple that with that the possibility of selected European outings and the team has an air of excitement about it.
But the transition to Super1600 hasn’t been a smooth one and the team has had to overcome the problems of building a car to suit Craig’s specific needs.
Milltek Sport have been supporting Craig Lomax in the British Rallycross championship for a number of years and one of their performance exhaust systems is fitted to the car which helps to provide it with unrivalled power and durability in the extreme conditions that Rallycross demands.
The first challenge is now on and that is to get the car to the start line at Croft for round 1 of the British Championship, which gets going on Sunday 15th March 2015.
Racing driver Lomax commented “We have had a steep learning curve over the closed season. Before we could just go and get a part off the shelf, now we have to plan and fabricate each and every part, which is something that takes time. It’s important for us to get everything right as in time we want to develop a European winning car, we are already planning for the 2016 season!”
“We have been lucky enough to have Milltek come on board and develop a bespoke exhaust system, with this kind of support the car should be in top condition”
