Goodwood ‘Exceptional’ for Milltek Sport
Following its biggest ever appearance at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed, exhaust manufacturer Milltek reported that it had enjoyed an ‘exceptional’ event during the four days of the show.
Taking a high-profile spot next to manufacturer exhibits from Volkswagen and Chevrolet, the Milltek stand used an impressive showroom and veranda structure that allowed guests to see cars and systems outside and details and products within. Out front were the impressive pairing of a BMW M4 and Audi RS7 – both of which were fired up many times during the weekend, much to the appreciation of the crowd!!
Classics are a now an important part of Milltek’s product line up, with this group of owners now a hugely important customer base for the Derbyshire firm. To this end, the company brought its latest designs from the ‘Milltek Classic’ range. Aimed squarely at the discerning collector and enthusiast, this range demonstrated a high-quality, modern take on some of the ’80s and ‘90s most iconic classics, including the Mk2 Golf GTI 8V, E36 BMW M3, Peugeot 205 GTi and Audi UR Quattro.
Milltek Ambassador and British GT star Tom Onslow-Cole was also on the stand during the weekend to meet fans, sign autographs and answer questions about his role as Milltek’s chief development driver. As the talent behind the wheel in signing off all of Milltek’s ultra-high performance systems, Onslow-Cole’s role has been increased in 2015 as the firm continues to push forward on the quality, sound and performance of its systems.
Partnering with Toyota GB, Milltek also used this year’s show to showcase the sight and sound of its impressive GT86 range. As part of Toyota GB’s ‘icons’ display – where six GT86 cars had been customised to resemble illustrious forebears from Toyota’s considerable motorsport history – each car has been fitted with a Milltek cat-back system. Not only did this add to the already impressive lines of each car, but during Thursday’s ‘Moving Motorshow’, where the cars were driven up the hill throughout the day, this impressive aural improvement could be heard echoing sonorously across the Lord March’s garden!
Outlining his firm’s 2015 FOS attendance managing director Steve Pound said. “This really has been a stand-out year for us. Not only have we been hugely impressed with the number of guests and trade enquiries, but also, it has allowed us to meet many of our manufacturer friends and get a really good look at the important new tuning models like the Golf R400, Ford Mustang and Honda Civic Type R and chat to their technical teams. I’m delighted with what FOS has achieved for us this year.”
