Milltek Sport / AmD Essex - Dunlop SportMaxx Race Team
Yesterday (Sunday 20th April) saw the launch of AmD Essex / Milltek Sport Dunlop SportMaxx Race Team. A meeting of seatcupra.net members at AmD's Essex branch saw 40 SEAT owners turn out to give the team a good send-off.
AmD, one of Milltek Sport's main UK stockists, will be running a 275bhp SEAT Leon Cupra in Class A of the Dunlop SportMaxx Cup and a 210bhp SEAT Leon FR in Class B.
AmD's Shaun Hollamby will be driving the Leon Cupra whilst the Leon FR will be driven by various journalists and celebrities on behalf of Dunlop and SEAT. This car will be driven by the winner of the Dunlop Academy competition which gives a member of the public a chance to get started in racing. Check out www.driversknow.com for full entry details of the Dunlop Academy.
"I am really looking forward to driving the AmD/ Milltek SEAT Leon Cupra in Dunlop SportMaxx. This championship brings back memories of the very successful and entertaining GpN saloon car championships of the 70's and 80's," said AmD boss Shaun Hollamby. "The cars are allowed very little modification save for AmD ecu remapping, Milltek exhausts, EBC brake pads and KONI shocks and Eibach springs. These are exactly the type of performance tuning parts that we at AmD specialise so it is ideal for us to be involved."
Further backing has been received from seatcupra.net, the worlds largest SEAT online forum and Performance VW magazine, which specialises in performance tuning for the VAG range of vehicles.
The first race of the Dunlop SportMaxx Championship is at Snetterton next weekend (26th April).
